Ripple Gains Full MiCA Compliance with Luxembourg CASP License

Ripple Completes MiCA Compliance in EU

San Francisco-based digital asset infrastructure firm Ripple has received CASP authorization from Luxembourg’s Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier. This authorization follows preliminary approval granted in June and completes the firm’s authorization process under the MiCA regime, according to a company statement.

The authorization confirms that Ripple is fully MiCA-compliant. Its end-to-end regulated crypto payments product can now be offered to financial institutions, corporates, and businesses throughout the EEA. Cassie Craddock, Managing Director, UK & Europe at Ripple, said the authorization positions the company to operate in the post-transitional MiCA environment “fully compliant and ready to scale.” Craddock noted that institutions across Europe are seeking to develop digital asset services with regulated partners and stated that Ripple is licensed to meet that demand.

The CASP authorization adds to Ripple’s existing EU Electronic Money Institution license and brings the company’s global portfolio to more than 75 regulatory licenses. Ripple also secured cryptoasset registration with the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority in January 2026.

MiCA Transition Narrows Pool of Authorized Providers

Ripple’s authorization comes shortly after MiCA’s final transition period ended on July 1. Under MiCA, fragmented national crypto licensing regimes are replaced by a single EU-wide framework, enabling authorized exchanges, custodians, and other cryptoasset service providers to passport their services across the EEA.

According to the European Securities and Markets Authority’s latest MiCA register update on July 3, 280 firms have secured CASP authorization, a subset of the more than 3,000 companies that previously operated under national regimes. Only providers that meet MiCA authorization requirements can continue offering regulated cryptoasset services across the EEA through the passporting model.

Ripple joins other major crypto firms that have been authorized under MiCA, including Kraken, Coinbase, OKX, and Crypto.com. Binance, described as the world’s largest crypto exchange by trading volume, entered the post-transition period without MiCA authorization after withdrawing its Greek license application ahead of the July 1 deadline.
