Bitcoin Extends Rebound as ETF Inflows Offset Geopolitical Tensions

Bitcoin Rises as Spot ETFs Log Two Weeks of Inflows

Bitcoin climbed 3.2% to $66,394.4 by 06:19 ET (10:19 GMT) on Tuesday, extending a recent rebound after steep losses earlier in 2026. The move coincided with renewed institutional interest, reflected in two consecutive weeks of net inflows into spot Bitcoin ETFs.

Data from aggregator SoSoValue showed that spot Bitcoin ETFs attracted $75.7 million in net inflows in the most recent week, following $197.4 million in inflows the previous week. The recent price declines in Bitcoin appeared to draw some bargain hunting by institutional investors. In addition, heightened volatility and deep losses in prominent artificial intelligence-related chipmaking stocks encouraged some portfolio flows back into cryptocurrencies.

Despite the latest rebound, the crypto sector as a whole continued to nurse substantial declines recorded so far this year.

U.S.-Iran Conflict Caps Crypto Upside

Broader market appetite for risk assets remained fragile amid a worsening conflict between the United States and Iran. The two countries carried out tit-for-tat strikes for a tenth consecutive day on Monday, with Washington seen expanding the scope of its attacks following the death of three U.S. service members over the weekend.

Tehran was reported to be keeping the Strait of Hormuz closed, while the United States maintained a naval blockade and continued air strikes. Some hopes of mediation emerged after reports that regional intermediaries had submitted a new peace proposal to Iran, and both Iranian and U.S. officials expressed some hope for an eventual return to negotiations. However, the conflict showed few signs of near-term resolution, with the Iran-backed Yemeni Houthi group threatening to impose a naval blockade on Saudi Arabia.

Even so, oil prices retreated from five-week highs on Tuesday, easing concerns about an energy-driven inflation shock.

Altcoins Track Bitcoin’s Rebound

Major altcoins advanced alongside Bitcoin. Ether, the world’s second-largest cryptocurrency, rose 4% to $1,943.71, while XRP gained 3.7%.

Solana added 2.7%, Cardano surged 7%, and BNB increased 2.2%. Among memecoins, Dogecoin and $TRUMP each rose 2.2%. Despite the gains, these assets, like Bitcoin, remained under pressure relative to recent weeks’ levels.
